Somatic Experiencing
A body-centered approach to ease overwhelm and restore your natural resilience

When the mind understands but the body still feels stuck…
When you’ve tried mindset work but something still isn’t shifting…
When your system is overwhelmed, frozen, or reactive…

This is where Somatic Experiencing can help.

What is Somatic Experiencing?

Somatic Experiencing (SE) is a gentle, body-centered approach that supports your nervous system in coming back into balance.

Rather than focusing only on thoughts or behaviors, SE works with sensations, breath, impulses, and awareness — helping your system regulate, integrate, and heal.

I am currently training in Somatic Experiencing and weave these techniques with other somatic tools and trauma-informed approaches.

This work can support you if you’re navigating:

  • Stress, anxiety, or emotional overwhelm
  • Feeling shut down, frozen, or disconnected
  • Old patterns stored in the body
  • Challenges with boundaries, burnout, or reactivity
  • A desire to feel more grounded, present, and safe in yourself

What to Expect

Sessions are slow, spacious, and intuitive.

We follow your body’s natural intelligence, working gently and respectfully — no pressure to “fix” or push through discomfort.

Your body knows how to heal; we create the space for that to happen.

Want support beyond the nervous system?

Somatic Experiencing helps you feel safer in your body. Coaching helps you take grounded, aligned steps forward.

Many of my clients benefit from both — whether simultaneously or at different stages in their journey.

If you’re also feeling the pull toward deeper clarity, purpose, or change, coaching can be a beautiful complement to this work.

Frequently Asked Questions.

What is Somatic Experiencing, and how is it different from talk therapy?

Somatic Experiencing is a body-based approach to healing. Rather than staying in the mind or retelling your story, we tune into what your body is experiencing in the present moment. It’s about helping your nervous system complete stress responses, release stored activation, and build a greater sense of safety, capacity, and regulation over time. These sessions are slow, intentional, and deeply rooted in your body’s own pace and wisdom.

SE isn’t therapy, but it is a trauma-resolution modality developed by Dr. Peter Levine. It supports you in healing from shock trauma, developmental trauma, and chronic stress—without needing to rehash painful memories. We don’t need to dive into painful memories for healing to happen—though if something from the past arises, we’ll meet it gently, with care and safety.

We slow down. You’ll be guided to notice what’s happening in your body in the present moment. That might mean tracking sensations, images, emotions, or movement impulses—whatever arises naturally. It’s gentle, and always at your pace.

Only if you want to. SE doesn’t require you to retell your story. It’s focus is on the sensations in the body. Often, just naming how something feels now is enough to create movement and resolution.

That’s completely natural — and exactly where we begin. Many people come in feeling disconnected from their bodies. SE is about rebuilding that connection slowly and safely, with no pressure to be anywhere other than where you are.

Yes, and they can be incredibly complementary. SE helps create the nervous system foundation — a sense of safety and capacity — and coaching can help you move forward with clarity and intention. If you’re curious which is right for you, or how they might work together, we can talk through it.
